Samsung Australia has teamed up with Joshua Gross, Sophie Monk’s husband, to spotlight the overlooked heroes of social media.

Samsung Australia has partnered with Joshua Gross, the husband of Sophie Monk, to shine a spotlight on the often overlooked heroes of social media.

The campaign, known as Unsung Snappers, recognizes the dedicated individuals frequently seen behind a phone camera, striving to capture the perfect shot for others.

Research commissioned by Samsung reveals that nearly half of Australians fall into this category, with 45% admitting to taking photos for a partner, friend, or family member's social media on a weekly basis.

Despite their willingness to assist others, a majority of Australians (70%) feel that taking photos for social media can hinder their ability to fully enjoy the moment. Additionally, 57% express frustration when capturing the 'perfect' photo in public takes too long, while almost half of Gen Z (50%) and millennials (46%) have felt self-conscious taking photos of others.

This light-hearted campaign coincides with the recent launch of the ultra-sleek Galaxy S25 Edge, designed to empower the Unsung Snappers of Australia with the necessary tools to consistently capture outstanding shots.

Gross shared, "If the shot doesn't turn out well, the responsibility falls on me. There's immense pressure to capture a great photo, especially when photographing one of the most beautiful women in the world."

He added, "Although I am fortunate to have a stunning subject, I often take hundreds of shots to ensure we achieve 'the one.' Unforeseen factors like weather conditions or unexpected intruders entering the frame always pose a risk."

Gross emphasized the importance of prioritizing the subject while striving for the perfect shot, crediting the Galaxy S25 Edge for simplifying the process for hard-working Unsung Snappers like himself.

Samsung's research reveals that nearly one-third of Australians frequently receive requests from partners or friends to retake photos due to dissatisfaction with facial expressions. Similarly, an equal percentage of respondents note that photos are often compromised by unwanted elements in the background.

The Galaxy S25 Edge features advanced AI editing tools that enable Unsung Snappers to effortlessly enhance photos using functions like Object Eraser, Best Face, and Audio Eraser.

Nathan Rigger, Head of Product, Mobile eXperience at Samsung Australia, commented, "The Galaxy S25 Edge, equipped with a flagship camera and Galaxy AI-enhanced image capture and editing suite, equips Australians with the necessary resources to capture flawless shots, eliminating the need for retakes and complaints and fostering seamless, shareable moments."
