At the Civil Hospital in Ahmedabad, amidst the search for loved ones aboard the Air India flight, 40-year-old Vishwash Kumar Ramesh lies in the general ward claiming to have survived the tragic crash. Vishwash, a British national, had come to India to visit family and was returning to the UK with his brother, Ajay Kumar Ramesh.

Vishwash described that just 30 seconds after take-off, there was a loud noise, and the plane crashed suddenly. He suffered 'impact injuries' on his chest, eyes, and feet.

The Gatwick-bound Air India flight, a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, had 242 people on board, including crew members. It took off at 1:39 pm on Thursday and tragically crashed within minutes, bursting into flames. Among the passengers were 169 Indians, 53 British nationals, seven Portuguese, and one Canadian.

Vishwash shared his terrifying experience of waking up to bodies around him and running amidst the debris. He recounted being grabbed by someone who put him in an ambulance and brought him to the hospital.

Having lived in London for 20 years, Vishwash expressed concern for his brother, Ajay, who was seated in a different row on the plane. Desperate to find him, Vishwash pleaded for assistance in locating his brother.

Meanwhile, at the hospital, family and friends of other passengers on the Air India flight were also searching for their loved ones. Among them were relatives of former Gujarat chief minister Vijay Rupani, who was also on the flight. Sailesh Mandliya, who had previously worked with Rupani, was present at the hospital seeking information about the former chief minister.
