Three police officers are accused of gross misconduct over the strip-search of Child Q at her school.

During a recent misconduct panel, it was revealed that a black schoolgirl, referred to as Child Q, was subjected to a strip-search by Metropolitan Police officers who threatened her with arrest if she did not comply. The incident took place at her school in Hackney, east London, on 3 December 2020, after teachers mistakenly suspected her of carrying cannabis.

The strip-search involved the removal of the 15-year-old's clothing, including her underwear. She was then made to bend over and expose intimate parts of her body while she was menstruating, according to the panel.

Constables Trainee Det Con Kristina Linge, PC Victoria Wray, and PC Rafal Szmydynski, who were all involved in the incident, have denied gross misconduct in their treatment of the girl.
