A tragic incident occurred when an Air India flight bound for London crashed into a residential area shortly after takeoff from Ahmedabad, India. Among the 240 passengers on board was a Canadian dentist from Mississauga. The crash resulted in the loss of many lives, with only one British national surviving the ordeal.
