Met Éireann has recently issued a Status Yellow thunderstorm warning for 10 counties, along with a rain alert. The forecast for today includes heavy rain and potential thunderstorms. The national forecaster has highlighted a moderate chance of thunderstorms in Carlow, Kilkenny, Wexford, Cork, Tipperary, and Waterford until 6pm. Additionally, a thunderstorm warning is in place for Dublin, Kildare, Meath, and Wicklow from 4pm until 8pm.

Moreover, a Status Yellow rain warning has been issued for Dublin, Louth, Meath, and Wicklow, with the expectation of heavy rainfall. This may result in localised flooding, poor visibility, and challenging travel conditions in all ten counties. The rain warning is set to expire at 4pm.

Some cars have been observed turning back on Clontarf Road in Dublin 3 due to flooding near St Anne's Park. Furthermore, Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council has advised against swimming at three beaches - Coliemore Harbour, Dún Laoghaire Baths, and Seapoint - until tomorrow, citing heavy rainfall as the reason.

For those traveling to the North, heavy rain and thunderstorms may cause disruptions. The UK's Met Office has also issued a Yellow thunderstorm warning for Antrim, Armagh, and Down counties, effective until 6pm today. Met Éireann has mentioned that while heavy rain and possible thunderstorms are expected today, conditions are likely to improve on Sunday.

On Sunday, temperatures are forecasted to range between 14 and 19C, with the warmest weather in the south and east. The day will be mostly dry with some bright spells developing. Overnight, the country will experience clear conditions for a time, but cloudier weather is expected to move in from the west and north, along with light rain and drizzle.
