Currently available in the US and select markets, Tinder plans to roll out 'Double Date' globally in July.

Tinder has introduced a new feature called 'Double Date,' which allows users to team up with a friend and match with other pairs. This group-style format is designed to make dating more social, especially for GenZ users who make up a significant portion of the app's global user base.

The concept is straightforward: users can choose a friend, link their profiles, and swipe on other duos. If both friends like a pair and there is mutual interest, a four-person group chat is opened, making it easier to avoid the awkwardness of one-on-one interactions.

According to Tinder, the Double Date feature has received positive early feedback, with nearly 90% of profiles coming from users under 29. During testing, women using the feature were three times more likely to like a profile compared to traditional swiping, and conversations saw a 35% increase in messages compared to standard one-on-one chats.

Tinder has been exploring ways to make dating more interactive and less isolating. Previous features like Tinder Matchmaker and Share My Date involved friends and family in the decision-making process.

This new feature has also helped Tinder re-engage users, with almost 15% of those accepting a Double Date invitation being either new or recently reactivated users. Currently, the feature is available in the US and select markets, with plans to launch globally in July.
