A federal judge denied Blake Lively's request to keep some of her private text messages with Taylor Swift from Justin Baldoni, marking a major legal victory for the embattled "It Ends with Us" actor and director.

A federal judge has granted Justin Baldoni access to some private text messages between Taylor Swift and Blake Lively, despite Lively's attempt to keep them private. This decision marks a significant legal win for the actor and director of 'It Ends with Us'.

U.S. District Judge Lewis Liman ruled that Baldoni's request for messages related to the film 'It Ends with Us' was permissible. The judge specified that only texts regarding the movie are to be disclosed, as it is central to the ongoing legal dispute between Lively and Baldoni.

In a court filing, Judge Liman stated that the messages sought by Baldoni are relevant to uncover information that could support or refute Lively's claims of harassment and retaliation. Lively's representative criticized the decision, accusing Baldoni of exploiting Taylor Swift's popularity to distract from the serious allegations against him.

Lively had sued Baldoni for sexual harassment and defamation, while Baldoni countersued Lively and others for defamation. The legal battle also involved The New York Times, which reported on the allegations. Swift, who was dragged into the lawsuit, was requested as a witness but her involvement in the film was limited to licensing a song for the soundtrack.

Despite attempts to involve Swift in the legal proceedings, Baldoni's request to subpoena her was eventually dropped. Throughout the legal dispute, Swift and Lively have not been seen together, and Swift has refrained from publicly commenting on the case.
