In a remarkable show of investor confidence, the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange reached a 52-week high despite being targeted by Iranian missile attacks. The stock exchange building itself was hit in the latest wave of attacks, but this did not deter investors from showcasing resilience amidst escalating tensions.

Reports from Israel confirmed that Iran fired 25 missiles in the early hours of Thursday, causing damage to several sites, including the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange building. However, the Israeli stock market remained largely unaffected, with investors maintaining their confidence despite the ongoing hostilities between Iran and Israel.

The Tel Aviv All Share Index saw a 0.5 per cent increase, reaching 2,574, which is its highest level in the past 52 weeks. Other key indices like the TA-35 and TA-125 also experienced gains, hitting their respective 52-week highs of 2,810 and 2,850.

The TA-125 Index, representing the largest companies on the Israeli stock exchange, has shown significant growth since tensions escalated on June 13. The index has risen by nearly 5 per cent in June, following a 6.55 per cent increase in May and a 4.53 per cent rise in April, highlighting sustained market optimism despite geopolitical risks.

While the Iranian missile strikes caused damage to a major hospital in southern Israel, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu issued a stern warning to Iran, emphasizing that the Islamic Republic would face severe consequences for targeting Soroka Hospital in Beersheba. Defence Minister Yoav Gallant also announced an escalation in military operations against Iran.

Despite the attack on Soroka Hospital, where several patients, doctors, and staff members were seriously injured, the Israeli Foreign Ministry condemned the indiscriminate missile strike. The Ministry reaffirmed Israel's commitment to protecting all its citizens, regardless of their background.
