A Certis auxiliary police officer tragically passed away after collapsing during a National Day Parade (NDP) rehearsal at the Padang, as confirmed by the Ministry of Defence (Mindef) and Changi Airport Group (CAG) on June 21. The 47-year-old man was part of the OneChangi contingent for the parade and ceremony segment of NDP 2025.

He was an employee of Certis, one of the nine companies in the OneChangi contingent, according to Certis' spokesman Robin Goh. The incident occurred at 11.23am and despite immediate medical attention, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation, the man did not respond. He was then transferred to Singapore General Hospital where resuscitation efforts continued, but unfortunately, he was pronounced dead at about 12.20pm.

Changi Airport Group and the NDP 2025 executive committee are providing full support to the family during this difficult time. Certis, Mindef, and CAG are working together to assist the man's family. Investigations are ongoing, but foul play is not suspected at this time.

The OneChangi contingent includes nine companies, such as CAG, Certis, Sats, and Shilla Cosmetics and Perfumes. NDP 2025, scheduled for August 9 at the Padang and Marina Bay, will also feature 17 other civilian contingents. Chua Chu Kang GRC MP Zhulkarnain Abdul Rahim expressed gratitude for the care and support shown during this tragic event.
