Xbox and Meta have partnered to create an Xbox branded Meta Quest VR headset, rumored to cost approximately $399 and to shadow drop on June 24. Images of the headset have appeared on social media.

Xbox and Meta have joined forces to introduce an Xbox-branded Meta Quest VR headset, rumored to be priced at around $399 and expected to be released on June 24. Recently leaked images of the headset have surfaced on social media.

While Xbox has steered clear of virtual reality in the past, its collaboration with Meta VR appears to be coming to fruition.

A now-deleted post on X (formerly Twitter) revealed images of the Xbox-branded Meta Quest. The images were reposted by @bmfshow and have since made their way across the metaverse and beyond.

It may seem like a recent development, but we actually covered the Meta Xbox VR headset back in 2024. Now, it looks like consumers might be able to purchase one as early as June 24 for just $399.

The black and green Xbox-branded Quest 3S is expected to shadow drop on June 24 for $399, offering 128GB of standard system memory, similar to the regular Meta Quest 3S but with Xbox branding. The package is said to include the virtual reality headset, an Elite Strap, Xbox wireless controller, and a three-month subscription to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.

Despite Microsoft's initial skepticism when launching the 'This is an Xbox' campaign, the expansion of Xbox-friendly platforms has made the Xbox-branded Meta Quest a more logical addition. With the growing popularity of Xbox Cloud Gaming and the 'This is an Xbox' marketing approach, the landscape has shifted. Some Xbox games can be enjoyed in VR on Meta Quest headsets through Xbox Cloud Gaming on a large virtual screen. While cloud streaming will still be necessary, this bundle caters to Xbox enthusiasts looking to enhance their gaming experience with a Meta Quest.

Since the introduction of the 'This is an Xbox' strategy, Xbox has broadened its horizons beyond just consoles and Windows PCs to encompass mobile devices, TVs, VR headsets, and handhelds. Who knows, maybe an Xbox-branded Samsung smart fridge is on the horizon.
