Tulsi Gabbard accused the media of spreading misinformation after US President Donald Trump's comments on Iran's nuclear capabilities.

Tulsi Gabbard criticized the news media after President Donald Trump disputed his director of national intelligence's evaluation of Iran's nuclear weapons development capabilities. Gabbard accused the media of spreading misinformation and taking her testimony out of context.

Following Trump's remarks, the DNI blamed the media for misrepresenting her testimony and shared a video of it online.

During her Capitol Hill testimony in March, Gabbard mentioned that Iran is not working on nuclear weapons and that Iran's top leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has not approved the program.

Gabbard stated, "The dishonest media is intentionally taking my testimony out of context and spreading fake news as a way to manufacture division." American intelligence indicates that Iran could produce a nuclear weapon within weeks or months if they decide to complete the assembly.

Trump has been firm that Iran cannot develop nuclear weapons, a sentiment Gabbard agrees with. The White House's rapid response team supported Gabbard, criticizing the media for distorting her testimony.

Vice President JD Vance also defended Gabbard, calling her a veteran, patriot, and loyal supporter of President Trump. He praised her as a critical part of the national security team.

Trump and Iran's Nuclear Program

Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has not approved Iran's nuclear weapons program, as per Gabbard's testimony. Trump is considering authorizing a US attack on Iran's primary nuclear enrichment site in Fordo, potentially using bunker-busting weapons.

Trump believes Iran was close to having a nuclear weapon before Israel's recent attacks. Israel claims Iran is close to producing a nuclear weapon.

Trump's Response to Gabbard

When asked about Iran's nuclear weapon development, Trump dismissed his intelligence community's assessment and criticized Gabbard's statement. He stated that his intelligence community was wrong and disagreed with Gabbard's position.

The White House announced that Trump will make a decision on launching an attack on Iran in the next two weeks.
