Actress and director Amar Khan added a humorous twist to her Eid Mubarak post, not just by celebrating with fellow celebrities but also by subtly taking a dig at the growing obsession with social media while participating in it herself.

In an Instagram story shared on Eid, Amar filmed a candid moment featuring Kinza Hashmi, Yashma Gill, Komal Meer, Momal Sheikh, Saboor Aly, Sidra Niazi, and Shazia Wajahat, all hooked on their phones.

The filmmaking graduate from Beaconhouse National University told her followers to “be witnesses” to the fact that phones have officially taken precedence over real-life connections.

In the clip, her admission that her stories would be the first to go live proves she, too, wasn’t immune to the race for the fastest update on social media.

With over two million Instagram followers, Amar Khan is more than just a star. She is a storyteller with substance and a sense of humour about social media.

The daughter of veteran actress Fareeha Jabeen began her career behind the camera, writing and directing acclaimed short films like Chashm-e-Num and Black Wednesday, the latter earning international recognition.

She made her acting breakthrough with the supernatural drama Belapur Ki Dayan, earning a Lux Style Awards nomination.

From intense roles in Ghughi, Dil-e-Bereham, Choti Choti Batain, and Dil-e-Gumshuda to writing and starring in the feature film Dum Mastam, Amar has proven herself to be a powerhouse of talent.

Recently, she penned the comic series Heer Da Hero, showcasing her knack for storytelling with wit and relevance.
