The upcoming 'Harry Potter' HBO TV series adaptation has announced seven new additions to its cast.
The latest actors joining the show include Katherine Parkinson as Molly Weasley, Lox Pratt as Draco Malfoy, Johnny Flynn as Lucius Malfoy, Leo Earley as Seamus Finnigan, Alessia Leoni as Parvati Patil, Sienna Moosah as Lavender Brown, and Bertie Carvel as Cornelius Fudge. Additionally, Bel Powley and Daniel Rigby will portray Petunia and Vernon Dursley, as reported by Variety.
Previously revealed cast members include Dominic McLaughlin as Harry, Arabella Stanton as Hermione, and Alastair Stout as Ron. The ensemble also features John Lithgow as Albus Dumbledore, Janet McTeer as Minerva McGonagall, Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape, Nick Frost as Rubeus Hagrid, Luke Thallon as Quirinus Quirrell, and Paul Whitehouse as Argus Filch.
The series is set to start filming in the U.K. during the summer months. HBO has described the adaptation as a faithful retelling of J.K. Rowling's beloved book series, promising to delve into all aspects of the magical world and introduce 'Harry Potter' to both new and existing fans.
Francesca Gardiner is the writer and executive producer of the show, also serving as showrunner. Mark Mylod will be an executive producer and direct multiple episodes, in collaboration with Brontë Film and TV and Warner Bros. Television. The series' executive producers include Rowling, Neil Blair, Ruth Kenley-Letts, and David Heyman.
