Court administrator Raul Villanueva has been appointed as the new Supreme Court (SC) Associate Justice, as confirmed by Palace Press Officer Claire Castro on Monday.
He will be taking over the position from Associate Justice Mario Lopez, who retired at the mandatory age on June 4.
Villanueva previously served as the Presiding Judge of Branch 255 of Las Piñas City Regional Trial Court (RTC) in 2002. He also held roles as Acting Presiding Judge of Branch 267 of Taguig City RTC and Acting Presiding Judge of Branch 4 of Manila RTC.
