Google is reportedly rolling out a new Pixel-exclusive feature called Pixel VIPs. This feature lets users prioritise important contacts to bypass Do Not Disturb mode.

Google is introducing a new exclusive feature for Pixel users called Pixel VIPs, which allows users to prioritize important contacts and receive notifications even when the phone is on Do Not Disturb mode.

The Pixel VIPs widget, initially leaked in a Google dogfood app, has now been spotted by several Pixel users through a Play Store update. This feature was expected to debut later this year but is now available earlier.

The VIP widget on Pixel phones lets users pin up to eight contacts as VIPs, displaying them prominently on the home screen. These VIP contacts will have a special label in the Contacts app and users can view their last call or message, along with real-time location if enabled.

Moreover, the Pixel VIPs widget can bypass Do Not Disturb mode, ensuring that calls or messages from VIP contacts always notify the user. This feature is beneficial for staying connected with family, friends, or work-related contacts without being distracted by other notifications.

Additionally, users can ask VIP contacts to share their location, view weather and local time, write notes about them, and receive activity suggestions based on shared preferences. Pixel VIPs is not a standalone app but can be added via the widget picker or Contacts app.

Google is expected to include Pixel VIPs in the June 2025 Feature Drop for Pixel phones, making it available to more users in the near future.
