The Senate is set to convene today at 6:00 pm at the Parliament House, with an eight-point agenda for discussion.
Senator Faisal Saleem Rehman, Chairman of the Standing Committee on Interior and Narcotics Control, will present reports on three important amendments. These include changes to the Societies Registration Act, 1860, the Control of Narcotic Substances Act, 1997, and the Control and Prevention of Profiteering and Hoarding Act, 1977.
Senator Saleem Mandviwalla will also present the committee's report on the Income Tax Amendment Bill, 2025, with a resolution for its approval expected to be tabled.
Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb will introduce the Finance Bill 2025 in a crucial agenda item. The Senate will then provide its recommendations on the bill to the National Assembly.
