This empowering initiative originated from a concept that took shape during a virtual webinar called 'ME for a Better Mental Health' last year. The main goal of this current project is to combat the stigma faced by young individuals at Bahay Pag-asa in Las Piñas City. This issue was brought to light by Dra. Voileta Perit-Jequinto's personal encounter during her final days of service before retirement.

Among the immediate challenges for these children are skin issues, lack of hygiene products, and insufficient vitamin intake. However, there are deeper emotional struggles at play. These youngsters need guidance, support, and empathy—a realization that was emphasized during Engr. Mark Louie Arcos' visit to Ms. Nora P. Guevarra, the Head of Bahay Pag-asa. Reintegrating into society can be extremely tough for a child who has made mistakes. Carrying the burden of past errors can lead to feelings of being wounded, scarred, and permanently marked—resulting in anxiety, depression, and, in severe cases, suicidal thoughts.

To pave the way for new beginnings, Ms. Nora has launched a program to assist the children of Bahay Pag-asa. This initiative aims to impart valuable skills that will enhance their self-esteem—not through traditional classroom settings, but through workshops and apprenticeships with industry experts. Furthermore, the program will expose them to various sports disciplines to choose from, promoting holistic well-being.

A portion of the proceeds from our upcoming event will be allocated to support this cause. Come and join us for 'Crank It Up! Live Loud and Conquer the Game,' the most joyful fun run in Cavite happening on August 10, 2025, at Vermosa, City of Imus, Cavite. This enjoyable event allows families and friends to bond with their pets while advocating for wellness and camaraderie among fitness enthusiasts, all while fostering hope and positivity within the community.

This event is spearheaded by the Philippine Society of Mechanical Engineers, Las Piñas – Muntinlupa Chapter, a group of experienced professionals in collaboration with GAIA Elite Inc., a global alliance that accelerates sustainable innovation by connecting investors, businesses, and advocates to create a cleaner environment.
