The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is cautioning the public to verify the accreditation of calibration and testing service providers following the discovery of a firm falsely claiming affiliation with the agency.

In an advisory, the DPWH Bureau of Research and Standards (BRS) identified Jae-Tech Metrology Services, a company based in General Mariano Alvarez in Cavite, as not being included in the agency's official database of accredited private testing laboratories.

Reports indicate that the company has been providing calibration and verification services for force-measuring instruments, weighing scales, temperature devices, and calipers without the necessary authorization.

The DPWH emphasized that only accredited laboratories have the authority to carry out calibration services for government projects to ensure the quality of infrastructure and public safety.

Contractors, suppliers, and the general public are encouraged to verify a provider's accreditation status by visiting the 'Business Accreditation' section of the DPWH website at www.dpwh.gov.ph.

The agency also urged individuals to report any unauthorized firms or suspicious activities related to DPWH services by contacting the hotline numbers (02) 5317-1358 or (02) 5304-3000 local 42558.
