Former India captain MS Dhoni was inducted into the ICC Hall of Fame during an event in London on Monday.

Former Indian cricket captain M.S. Dhoni was recently inducted into the prestigious ICC Hall of Fame at a ceremony held in London. This recognition places him among a total of 115 esteemed cricketers, with Dhoni being the 11th Indian and ninth male player from India to receive this honor.

Expressing his gratitude, Dhoni stated, "It is an honor to be named in the ICC Hall of Fame, which recognizes the contributions of cricketers across generations and from all over the world. It is something that I will cherish forever."

Having made his debut in 2004, Dhoni went on to captain the Indian cricket team in 2007, leading them to victory in the 2007 T20 World Cup, 2011 ODI World Cup, and 2013 Champions Trophy.

Throughout his career, Dhoni played 350 ODIs, amassing 10,773 runs at an impressive average of 50.57, including 10 centuries and 73 fifties. In the Test format, he scored 4,876 runs in 90 matches at an average of over 38, along with six centuries and close to 300 wicketkeeping dismissals.

Former India coach Ravi Shastri commended Dhoni's exceptional composure, stating, "I've never seen anyone with a temperament of that sort, not even the great Sachin Tendulkar, who could get angry at times."

Dhoni bid farewell to international cricket in August 2020, following his last appearance in the 2019 World Cup semifinal loss to New Zealand. This year's other inductees into the ICC Hall of Fame include Matthew Hayden, Daniel Vettori, Hashim Amla, Graeme Smith, Sana Mir, and Sarah Taylor.
