The distribution of cash assistance to hog farmers affected by African Swine Fever in Bohol was led by Governor Aris Aumentado. The provincial government released P4.3 million as part of the indemnification program spearheaded by the Office of the Provincial Veterinarian (OPV). A total of 357 hog raisers from eight towns benefited from the program, aiming to help them rebuild their livelihoods.

Governor Aumentado emphasized the importance of preventing the spread of ASF in the province, acknowledging the efforts of various individuals in combating the disease. He praised the OPV, local government units (LGUs), and other stakeholders for their support in controlling the spread of ASF, which minimized significant damage in the affected areas.

Despite only 15 out of the 48 towns being impacted by ASF in Bohol, with 41 active cases out of 1,109 barangays, Governor Aumentado urged continued public assistance in the fight against the virus. He assured that the welfare of hog raisers remains a top priority and expressed hope for the availability of a vaccine in the near future.
