The ongoing military tension between Pakistan and India has had a significant impact on the Punjabi film industry in India. Production and release work of many prominent films from West Punjab (India) featuring artists from Punjab (Pakistan) have come to a halt. This includes films like 'Chal Mera Putt 4' and 'Sardar Ji 3' which were popular among viewers in Pakistan.
Additionally, Punjabi films produced by Punjabi producers in the UK or Canada, which also had a good viewership in Pakistan, have faced setbacks. With several films ready for release and in production, concerns have been raised about the fate of these projects involving Pakistani actors.
Film writer and director Chandra Kamboj expressed doubts about the future of films with Pakistani artists being screened in India and vice versa. Despite having several films completed and in progress, the uncertainty surrounding the release of these projects remains.
