Stargazers in Kerry have a unique opportunity tonight as the Strawberry Moon is set to make an appearance, a phenomenon that occurs once every 18.6 years. The celestial event is expected to be visible above the Kingdom just after half past 3 tomorrow morning.
Kevin Lawlor, a member of the Kerry Astronomy Club, explains that the moon will be at its lowest orbit in the sky during this rare occurrence.
Lawlor also mentions that there are several other exciting astronomical events lined up for June, including the Summer solstice and various celestial phenomena.
If you're interested in joining the Kerry Astronomy Club, they meet every second Tuesday of the month at MTU Kerry North campus. More details can be found on their website.
