President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. urged the Federation of Filipino Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (FFCCCII) to enhance the bilateral relations between the Philippines and China and position the Philippines as a reliable partner for economic development.
Speaking at the oath-taking ceremony of the new FFCCCII officers in Binondo, Manila, Marcos recognized the federation's contributions over the past seven decades in promoting commerce, education, and community service.
He emphasized the importance of deepening international partnerships, especially with China, to foster better trade, increased investments, and improved collaboration.
Marcos encouraged the FFCCCII to highlight the Philippines as a trustworthy partner for economic growth and to support small and medium-sized enterprises to achieve inclusive growth.
He challenged the federation to lead industries towards innovation by implementing globally competitive and sustainable strategies for the future.
Established in 1954, the FFCCCII is the largest organization of Chinese-Filipino businessmen, working closely with the government to drive national development and advocate for business and economic growth.
Recent projects of the federation include the illumination of Jones Bridge and beautification efforts in the Binondo Chinatown district.
During the ceremony, the FFCCCII presented Marcos with a scale model of a two-classroom school building as part of their commitment to social responsibility through the 'Operation: Barrio Schools' Program, which has built over 6,500 public school buildings nationwide.
