Caraga region is aiming to achieve a five-minute police response to emergency calls, according to a top police officer. Police Brig. Gen. Christopher Abrahano, the director of the Police Regional Office-Caraga (PRO-13), mentioned that they have implemented a mobile application with location-based technology for easier crime reporting and quick police assistance.
The AGAP mobile application was officially launched at PRO-13 headquarters before the May 12 midterm polls. During a simulation exercise, the application was used to request police assistance in Butuan City and Surigao City. Police operatives were able to arrive at the specified locations in less than three minutes.
One of the key priorities set by Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Police Gen. Nicolas Torre III is to achieve a five-minute police response time. Abrahano also praised the newly implemented eight-hour, three-shift work system in PRO-13, which aims to enhance police visibility, operational efficiency, and ensure a fair distribution of manpower across all units.
