Nintendo confirmed a brand-new game for the Switch 2 called Splatoon Riders, alongside a major update for Splatoon 3.

The beloved squid kids are making their way to the upcoming Switch 2 console. Nintendo surprised fans with exciting news about their ink-shooting franchise on their mobile news app.

Firstly, a spinoff game titled Splatoon Raiders is currently in development for the Switch 2. While details are scarce, the game will transport players to the Spirhalite Islands to unravel a mystery alongside the fictional pop group Deep Cut. It seems like this game may focus on a single-player experience, but a release date has not been announced yet.

On the other hand, the popular online shooter Splatoon 3 is set to receive a significant update on June 12th, bringing it to version 10.0. This update will feature 30 remixed weapons and the iconic Urchin Underpass map from the original Splatoon on the Wii U. Additionally, the game will be optimized for the Switch 2, promising 'more detailed visuals' and a 'smoother appearance' in specific areas. Players will have the opportunity to compete against each other across both platforms, and the update will be free for all players.
