A tragic incident occurred when a 32-year-old father, Ben Crook, passed away in Turkey shortly after arriving with his family for a holiday. The circumstances surrounding his death were ruled as an accident by the coroner, although the exact details remain unknown.
Ben Crook, along with his partner, Jess Jenkins, and their two children, flew to Antalya on September 23. However, Ben's behavior on the flight, which involved alcohol and cocaine consumption, led to him being escorted off the plane after causing a disturbance.
Upon landing in Turkey on September 24, Mr. Crook was separated from his partner and asked to leave the airport. Unfortunately, he never made it to the hotel where his family was staying and was reported missing. Tragically, he was later found with fatal injuries after falling from a height and passed away at Antalya Training and Research Hospital.
During the inquest, it was revealed that Ben Crook had consumed alcohol and cocaine before the flight, leading to his disruptive behavior on the plane. His family also shared that he had been struggling with substance abuse and mental health issues in the months leading up to his death.
Witnesses in Turkey reported seeing Mr. Crook before his tragic fall, and messages from unidentified individuals indicated that he had been seeking help and appeared shaken and hungover. The coroner concluded that his death was the result of an accidental fall, with no third-party involvement suspected.
Post-mortem examinations revealed the extent of Mr. Crook's injuries, including fractures to the skull and pelvis, as well as the presence of drugs and alcohol in his system. The medical cause of death was determined to be blunt trauma from the fall.
Despite the tragic circumstances, the coroner offered her condolences to Ben Crook's family during the proceedings.
