An organization representing Korean Americans in Los Angeles has condemned Donald Trump Jr, the son of the US president, for his controversial remarks on social media. The Korean American Federation of Los Angeles has urged him not to exploit a riot that devastated their community 33 years ago.

The federation also criticized the US administration's operation to apprehend suspected undocumented immigrants, stating that it lacked proper legal procedures.

Donald Trump Jr shared a photo of a man with a rifle on a rooftop along with the message: 'Make Rooftop Koreans Great Again!' This reference was to the actions taken by the Korean American community during the 1992 race riots in Los Angeles.

In response, the federation expressed concern over the recent events in Los Angeles, noting that their businesses had been significantly impacted by the crackdown and arrests.

In a statement released on Monday, the organization highlighted the insensitivity of Donald Trump Jr's post, which appeared to mock the ongoing unrest by referencing the 'Rooftop Korean' from the LA riots over three decades ago.

The federation emphasized that as the son of the current president and a social media influencer with approximately 15 million followers, his actions could have serious consequences during such turbulent times. They strongly urged against exploiting the past trauma of the Korean community for any purpose.
