The family of Raja Raghuvanshi, who tragically lost his life during his honeymoon in Meghalaya, is demanding justice for their loved one. They are calling for the accused individuals in the case to face the death penalty. The family members have also alleged that there were more than four people involved in the murder of Raja.
Raja's mother, Uma Raghuvanshi, expressed her desire for strict punishment for the perpetrators. She stated, "I want justice for my son. The accused should be hanged. They should be given a strict punishment. I believe more people are involved in the case since one individual could not have orchestrated and carried it out," the grieving mother said.
Raja Raghuvanshi and his wife Sonam, residents of Indore, went missing on May 23 in Meghalaya during their honeymoon. Tragically, Raja's body was discovered on June 2 in a gorge near Cherrapunji, with two head injuries.
Police have arrested four individuals, including Sonam and her alleged boyfriend Raj Kushwaha.
Uma Raghuvanshi also shared that the family had warmly welcomed Sonam into their lives, unaware of her past and her relationship with Raj Kushwaha. She mentioned, "We were happy to welcome her into the family. We didn't pay attention to her past; we could only see what lay ahead. Raja was very happy with the marriage. The last time I talked to them was on May 23. I had no suspicions until the very end."
Raja's brother, Vipin Raghuvanshi, accused Sonam of staging her surrender and claimed that there were more than five individuals involved in the crime. He expressed doubts about Sonam's surrender and questioned her knowledge of the people who dropped her off.
Vipin also raised concerns about Raj Kushwaha's involvement, alleging that he was not innocent and had a close relationship with Sonam. He revealed that Sonam was found in Raj's hometown before she surrendered.
Following the developments, a 23-year-old accused in the murder case was sent to transit custody of the Meghalaya police along with three other suspects. Investigations are ongoing as the family seeks justice for Raja Raghuvanshi.
