Fujifilm's second X-Summit of 2025 is coming live from China

The latest Fujifilm X-Summit in Shanghai has unveiled the new X-E5 camera along with a new XF23mm lens. The X-E5 will be priced at €1,549 for the body in silver or black, with a kit including the lens available for €1,799 starting in August. The lens will be sold separately for €549 in December, featuring 8 elements in 6 groups and two aspherical lens elements, making it the third 23mm lens in Fujifilm's XF lens range.

The XF23mm f/2.8 R WR lens weighs just 90g, is weather-sealed, and has a 39mm filter ring. Despite its wider angle of view, it is the same size and weight as the existing XF27mm f/2.8 lens. Additionally, a new 23mm f/2.8 lens, the 45th in the range, has been designed to complement the X-E5 with its 35mm equivalent focal length.

The X-E5 introduces a Classic Display option for a simplified viewfinder display and on-body controls for Film Simulations, including custom settings for personal Film Recipes. Equipped with a 40-megapixel sensor and built-in image stabilization, this model is the first in the X-E range to offer this feature.

The X-Summit in Shanghai showcased the X-E5 and its features, highlighting its rangefinder-style design and compact form factor. The event also hinted at potential future developments and updates on Fujifilm's lens roadmaps, sparking excitement among fans and photographers.

Since its inception in 2019, the Fujifilm X-Summit has become a key event in the photography industry, with the Shanghai July 2025 X-Summit marking the 16th edition. These events, held two to three times a year, provide a platform for Fujifilm to unveil new products and engage with its audience.

Overall, the X-Summit in Shanghai offered a glimpse into Fujifilm's latest innovations, setting the stage for what's to come in the world of photography.
