Actor and former politician Laurence Fox has appeared in court facing sex offences after allegedly sharing an upskirting photo of TV star Narinder Kaur. The incident involved a photo of Narinder climbing out of a taxi in 2009, taken without her consent. Fox arrived at Woolwich Crown Court to formally enter a plea for the charges brought against him.
He is accused of two offences under the Sexual Offences Act 2003. The first charge involves intentionally sharing a photo of Narinder in an intimate state with the intention of causing her alarm, distress, or humiliation. The second charge states that Fox sent a photo of Narinder's genitals with the purpose of obtaining sexual gratification, being reckless about causing alarm, distress, or humiliation.
If convicted, Fox could face up to two years in prison and be placed on the Sex Offenders Register. Narinder, who chose to waive her anonymity, reported the image, leading to an 11-month investigation by the Metropolitan Police. She expressed feeling violated, humiliated, and degraded by the incident.
Laurence Fox, known for his role in the detective series Lewis, has faced criticism for his controversial views on race, gender, and Covid. He was dismissed from GB News in 2023 for making sexist comments about a female journalist on live television. Fox also ventured into politics with the Reclaim Party but failed to secure a significant number of votes in the 2021 London Mayor election.
He was previously married to actress Billie Piper, with whom he shares two sons. The couple separated in 2016 and finalized their divorce shortly after. Fox arrived at court hand-in-hand with his partner Elizabeth Barker, as former Big Brother star Narinder, 52, attended the proceedings after reporting the post to the police.
