Heavy rainfall is expected to hit Ireland today as MET ÉIREANN issues a status yellow rain warning for 20 counties. The warning includes the risk of localised flooding, scattered thunderstorms, and challenging travel conditions.

The warning covers the eastern half of the country, including all of Leinster, Tipperary, and Waterford, lasting until 2pm today. Additional counties affected until 5pm are Cavan, Donegal, Monaghan, Leitrim, Roscommon, and Sligo.

Along with heavy rain, there is a possibility of localised flooding, lightning damage, and difficult travel conditions. Despite the rain, temperatures are expected to range between 16 and 21 degrees today.

After the storm threat passes, tonight will be mild but cloudy with scattered showers and fog in some areas. Tomorrow is forecasted to have a mix of sunshine and rain, with isolated thunderstorms possible in the southwest. Temperatures are expected to reach highs of 17 to 21 degrees.
