The Gaza Humanitarian Foundation said the attack, which the BBC could not independently verify, came after days of threats from Hamas.

The Gaza Humanitarian Foundation has reported that five Palestinian aid workers were killed in an attack on a bus, allegedly carried out by Hamas. The BBC has not independently verified this incident, which occurred following threats from Hamas.

Since then, the foundation's operations have been plagued by controversy and violence, with fatal incidents occurring near its distribution centers almost daily.

The UN and aid organizations have criticized the foundation's approach, stating that it violates humanitarian principles of neutrality, impartiality, and independence.

Local doctors have reported that numerous Palestinians were killed or injured by Israeli soldiers while attempting to access food at the foundation's distribution points.

The Gaza Humanitarian Foundation condemned the attack, expressing concern that some staff may have been taken hostage. The Israeli military has not confirmed the allegations but echoed the foundation's statement, accusing Hamas of obstructing aid delivery.

Hamas has denied the allegations, claiming that the foundation's operations have failed on multiple levels. The foundation's distribution system has been criticized for its limited supplies and risky distribution process.

Since its inception, the foundation has witnessed frequent shootings near its centers, resulting in numerous casualties. Gaza's health ministry reported over 200 deaths and nearly 2,000 injuries among those attempting to access aid distribution areas.

Recently, a GHF convoy in Gaza's Netzarim corridor was targeted, resulting in at least 25 fatalities. Despite these challenges, the foundation claims to have distributed 43,000 food parcels across Gaza without major incidents.

The US and Israel support aid delivery through the GHF to prevent Hamas from stealing supplies. However, the UN disputes the extent of this issue, while Hamas denies any involvement in theft.
