The U.S. is on high alert as fears grow over a potential Israeli strike on Iran amid faltering nuclear talks and rising regional tensions.

The United States is currently on high alert as concerns rise regarding a possible Israeli strike on Iran's nuclear facilities without prior American approval, as per US intelligence officials mentioned in The Washington Post.

Amid these escalating concerns, US President Donald Trump announced on Wednesday that he would begin moving American personnel out of the Middle East, especially Iran, due to safety concerns.

The Washington Post reported that the US State Department has allowed certain staff members to leave Iraq, while the Pentagon is permitting military families to voluntarily depart from American bases across the region.

Moreover, the State Department has directed all embassies within the potential range of Iranian assets, including those in the Middle East, Eastern Europe, and Northern Africa, to activate emergency action committees and provide Washington with cables detailing risk mitigation strategies.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio updated the global travel advisory to reflect the current US stance. The advisory stated, "On June 11, the Department of State ordered the departure of non-emergency US government personnel due to heightened regional tensions."

US Iran Nuclear Talks

These heightened security measures come as President Trump faces diminishing hopes of reaching an agreement with Tehran that could potentially limit Iran's nuclear program to prevent a major military conflict amid the Israel-Hamas war.

Trump emphasized, "They can't have a nuclear weapon. Very simple, they can't have a nuclear weapon."

Despite the increasing tensions, diplomatic efforts are ongoing. According to Reuters, US special envoy Steve Witkoff is set to meet Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi in Oman this Sunday to discuss Tehran's upcoming response to a recent American nuclear proposal. Iran has rejected the current US offer as "unacceptable" but intends to present a counter-proposal.

Israel's Threat

Israel is preparing to strike Iran if the ongoing talks between the US and Iran collapse, as reported by Axios.

The publication quoted sources using Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's nickname, stating, "Bibi is waiting for the nuclear talks to collapse and for the moment Trump will be disappointed about the negotiations and open to giving him the go-ahead."

Trump has repeatedly cautioned about potential military action against Iran if nuclear negotiations fail. In an interview with the New York Post on Wednesday, he expressed skepticism about Tehran's willingness to limit its uranium enrichment, a key US demand.
