Railway operators Southern and Thameslink are implementing restrictions on passengers bringing bicycles onto trains this Sunday in light of a charity event.
The British Heart Foundation will host its annual London to Brighton Bike Ride on 15 June, expected to attract 14,000 participants. Riders will kick off at Clapham Common starting at 06:00 BST, journeying through south London, Surrey, and Sussex on a 54-mile route to Brighton Seafront.
For the duration of the event, Southern and Thameslink have announced that customers will not be permitted to bring non-folding bikes on board at stations between Brighton and Shoreham-by-Sea, Haywards Heath, or Lewes throughout the day.
