A 66-year-old woman is facing charges for causing death by careless driving following a tragic crash that resulted in the death of an American woman.
Authorities reported that pedestrian Allison Eichner, in her 40s and hailing from Connecticut, lost her life in a single-vehicle collision on Causeway Road in Bushmills on Wednesday.
Emergency services were quick to respond to the scene, arriving shortly before 12:30 pm. Despite being rushed to the hospital, Ms. Eichner succumbed to her injuries.
The collision investigation unit has formally charged the 66-year-old woman with causing death by careless driving. She is scheduled to appear in Coleraine Magistrates’ Court on Friday.
All charges will undergo review by the Public Prosecution Service.
