Updates to Apple Intelligence will power new live translations features and more across iOS 26 and macOS Tahoe.

Apple Intelligence has seen some new updates announced at the WWDC 2025 conference, showcasing improvements to Genmoji and Image Playground that will be available on iOS 26 and other Apple operating systems.

In Messages, users can now create colorful backgrounds for group chats using Image Playground, with integration with ChatGPT for generating images in new styles. Genmoji will also allow users to combine two Unicode emojis to create unique characters.

Live translation features are being introduced across Messages, FaceTime, and the Phone app, allowing for real-time translations of messages and voice translations during calls. Visual Intelligence is also getting an upgrade, now able to scan screens and provide deeper integration with ChatGPT for visual search capabilities.

Developers will now have access to Apple's on-device foundational model for building intelligent apps, with the Foundation Models framework supporting Swift coding language. An upgraded Shortcuts app will also support actions powered by Apple Intelligence, offering personalized shortcuts for users.

Other enhancements include Apple Wallet automatically summarizing tracking details from merchants and delivery carriers. Despite some delays and bugs, Apple is focusing on practical features to improve its AI suite.
