Paramount+ has announced the renewal of 'Star Trek: Strange New Worlds' for a fifth and final season, which will consist of six episodes. This news comes over a month before the premiere of the third season on July 17. The previous four seasons each had 10 episodes.

The show explores Pike's knowledge of his tragic future, as well as the events that lead to his disfigurement and paralysis.

There is speculation about how the series will address the pivotal moment in Pike's life and whether there will be a spin-off set in the Kirk-era Enterprise. The show features other iconic 'Trek' characters such as Spock, Uhura, Chapel, and Scotty, portrayed by various actors.

While Season 5 is confirmed, fans will have to wait a couple of years for its release. Season 4 is currently in production and is expected to premiere in mid-to-late 2026. The show is a collaboration between CBS Studios, Secret Hideout, and Roddenberry Entertainment, with a team of executive producers overseeing the production.
