“Star Trek: Strange New Worlds” has been renewed for a fifth and final season, which will run for six episodes.

Paramount+ has announced the renewal of 'Star Trek: Strange New Worlds' for a fifth and final season, which will consist of six episodes. This news comes over a month before the premiere of the third season on July 17. The previous four seasons each had 10 episodes.

Executive producers Akiva Goldsman, Henry Alonso Myers, and Alex Kurtzman expressed their gratitude to Paramount+ for allowing them to complete their five-season mission as envisioned. They praised the cast and crew for their extraordinary work on the show.

'Strange New Worlds' has always aimed to honor the core values of 'Star Trek' including boundless curiosity, hope, and the belief in a better future. The producers thanked the passionate fans for joining them on this journey and assured them that there are three more seasons to enjoy.

The series is a prequel that follows Capt. Christopher Pike, played by Anson Mount, during his time leading the USS Enterprise before James T. Kirk, portrayed by Paul Wesley, takes over. The show explores Pike's knowledge of his tragic future, as well as the events that lead to his disfigurement and paralysis.

There is speculation about how the series will address the pivotal moment in Pike's life and whether there will be a spin-off set in the Kirk-era Enterprise. The show features other iconic 'Trek' characters such as Spock, Uhura, Chapel, and Scotty, portrayed by various actors.

While Season 5 is confirmed, fans will have to wait a couple of years for its release. Season 4 is currently in production and is expected to premiere in mid-to-late 2026. The show is a collaboration between CBS Studios, Secret Hideout, and Roddenberry Entertainment, with a team of executive producers overseeing the production.
