The Low-Pressure Area (LPA) within the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) has intensified into a tropical depression and has been named 'Auring' by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), as announced on Thursday evening, June 12.
This marks the first tropical cyclone to develop within the PAR in 2025. At 10 p.m., Auring was located approximately 250 kilometers north of Itbayat, Batanes, with maximum sustained winds of 45 kph near the center and gusts reaching up to 55 kph. The tropical depression is currently moving north-northwestward at a speed of 15 kph.
