Independent watchmaker Konstantin Chaykin has unveiled two new additions to his popular Wristmons collection: the Joker Iron Mask and Joker Golden Mask. These new models take the Joker concept to the next level with their open-dial design that combines theatrical inspiration with traditional watchmaking techniques.

In 2020, Chaykin introduced the open-dial concept with the Martian Tourbillon for Only Watch 2021. The idea was further developed in the Joker 5, released five years after the original Joker. This evolution led to the creation of the Joker Golden Mask and Joker Iron Mask, which were launched in 2023 and went into full production in 2025 after delays due to the Stargazer Wristmon.

Both the Joker Iron Mask and Joker Golden Mask come in a stainless steel case with a unique bezel, a two-crown design, a domed sapphire crystal on the front, and a flat sapphire display caseback. The 40mm diameter and 12.78mm thickness of the case showcase the movement while providing a clear view of the mechanical dial layout.

The skeletonised dial features Chaykin's signature Joker module, with rotating discs for hours and minutes displayed by blued steel rings resembling pupils. A hand with a red window-shaped tip tracks the day of the week along a curved aperture below. Decorative bridges shaped like eyebrows and a ruby-set “nose” add to the mask-like appearance. The bridges are finished with a frosted texture, with gold-plating on the Golden Mask and rhodium-plating on the Iron Mask.

Both models are equipped with the calibre K.09-1, based on La Joux-Perret’s G200 automatic movement. With 68 hours of power reserve and a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour, the skeletonised rotor is color-matched to each watch.

Each watch comes with a black alligator strap and a steel buckle designed by Chaykin. Limited to 100 pieces per year, the Joker Iron Mask and Joker Golden Mask are priced at CHF 40,800 each. For more details, visit Chaykin.ru.
