Bose announces two additions to its SoundLink range of Bluetooth speakers: the SoundLink Plus and the SoundLink Micro (2nd Gen)

Bose recently introduced two new additions to its SoundLink series of Bluetooth speakers: the SoundLink Plus and the SoundLink Micro (2nd Gen).

The SoundLink Plus is designed to offer a combination of rich sound and a rugged, portable design. It is positioned below the more expensive SoundLink Max Bluetooth speaker, which received a five-star rating last year.

This new speaker features a unique acoustic architecture with one subwoofer, a tweeter, and four passive radiators for top-notch sound quality and strong bass performance.

To enhance its portability, Bose has made the SoundLink Plus shock- and rust-resistant, with an IP67 rating for protection against water and small particles. It also includes a nylon rope for easy carrying and can float in water like its predecessor.

The SoundLink Plus offers up to 20 hours of playtime on a single charge and can be used to charge other devices via USB-C, similar to the JBL Charge 6.

On the other hand, the SoundLink Micro (2nd Gen) is an updated version of the original Micro model, boasting improved audio quality and enhanced features in a compact design. Despite its small size, it promises loud, clear sound with bass thanks to its single driver and dual passive radiators.

Both the SoundLink Plus and the SoundLink Micro (2nd Gen) come with an IP67 rating, Bluetooth 5.4, and a new removable fabric nylon strap for easy attachment to various objects. The second-generation Micro speaker supports USB-C charging for an extended battery life of up to 12 hours.

These new speakers, along with the SoundLink Flex (2nd Gen), can be paired together for stereo separation or party mode. Users can manage these speakers through the Bose app, adjusting EQ settings and connecting them to other Bose devices via 'Bose SimpleSync'.

The SoundLink Plus is priced at £250 / $269 / AU$429 and will be available in black, blue, dusk, and a limited-edition citrus yellow finish. The SoundLink Micro (2nd Gen) will retail for £120 / $129 / AU$179 in blue and blue dusk color options.
