During the five-month enforcement of the nationwide gun ban for the May 12 midterm elections, Central Luzon saw 619 violators apprehended and 640 illegal firearms confiscated, as reported by the Police Regional Office (PRO)-3.

PRO-3 Director Police Brig. Gen. Jean Fajardo commended the police force for their commitment and proactive approach in upholding the law and ensuring community safety, particularly during the election period.

Collaboration among various law enforcement agencies, local government units, and community stakeholders was highlighted as a key factor in the successful operations against those violating the gun ban.

These joint efforts were effective in eliminating illegal weapons and preventing potential election-related violence in the region.

The operations were part of the broader initiative by the Philippine National Police to create a secure environment, aligning with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s directive to increase police presence and visibility across the country.
