Sam Thompson recently came face-to-face with Louis Tomlinson, the new boyfriend of his ex Zara McDermott, during Soccer Aid training. Both Sam and Louis are participating in the upcoming charity match for Unicef and were seen arriving for training together.

Sam, 32, and Louis, 33, are on the same England team for the event and seemed to be in good spirits as they prepared at Old Trafford in Manchester. Louis, who has been dating Zara since April, appeared cheerful as he made his way to the football ground, sporting a bottle green jacket and smiling for photographers.

Last week, Sam completed a challenging 260-mile endurance challenge for Soccer Aid, despite suffering from a torn calf. He ran and cycled from Stamford Bridge in London to Old Trafford to deliver the Soccer Aid football. Despite his injury, Sam is expected to join Louis and the rest of the England squad on the pitch on Sunday.

During a recent podcast, Sam was asked about playing football with Louis by his friend Pete Wicks. Despite the awkward questions, Sam maintained a positive outlook and joked about the upcoming match. Pete teased Sam about potential rivalries and tensions on the field, but Sam reportedly holds no hard feelings towards Louis and is focused on the game.

Despite his split with Zara in December 2024 after a five-year relationship, Sam has reportedly accepted Louis as Zara's new partner and is not dwelling on the past. Sources close to Sam have indicated that he is moving forward and looking forward to the Soccer Aid event.
