Rhasidat Adeleke finished fourth in her first outing this season over 400m in a stacked women's event at the Oslo Diamond League.

Rhasidat Adeleke achieved a fourth-place finish in her first race of the season over 400m at the Oslo Diamond League, competing in a tough women's event.

The 22-year-old athlete is gearing up for the World Championships in Tokyo this September and completed the race with a time of 50.42.

In a highly competitive field, Adeleke narrowly missed out on a top-three finish, with American Isabella Whittaker (49.58) and Norway's Henriette Jaeger (49.62) setting impressive sub-50 times.

The race had an intense finish as Whittaker made a strong push to overtake the local favorite in the final stretch.

World Indoor champion Amber Anning finished just ahead of Adeleke, while Like Klaver (50.64) and Poland's Natalia Bukowiecka (formerly Kaczmarek) took the fifth and sixth spots respectively.

Adeleke, who skipped the indoor season and delayed her 400m debut, will be back in action in Stockholm for the next round of the Diamond League on Sunday.
