Police personnel in Negros Occidental will be deployed to ensure student safety on June 16. More than 500 officers from the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office will be stationed in the province for this purpose.

According to Police Capt. Judesses Catalogo, spokesperson for the Negros Occidental police, assistance desks will be set up and foot and mobile patrols will be conducted to enhance police presence in schools. This measure is aimed at preventing crimes and is part of their annual integrated patrol deployment plan.

Catalogo mentioned that two policemen will man the assistance desks in rotating shifts, with personnel coming from police stations in each municipality. During a recent meeting with Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson, the importance of bolstering police presence in schools for the safety of students, parents, and teachers was highlighted.

Police Col. Joeresty Coronica, Bacolod City police director, stated that they will utilize all available personnel in alignment with the directives of PNP chief Police Gen. Nicolas Torre III. The focus will be on patrolling all schools to ensure comprehensive coverage.

Police Lt. Col. Lester Leada, deputy city director for operations of BCPO, mentioned that their security strategy will prioritize mobile and beat patrols in schools, in adherence to the national headquarters' five-minute response time for police assistance. Additionally, they plan to involve force multipliers from barangays to support police efforts in securing schools.
