Preston Davey was pronounced dead in hospital after being brought in unresponsive, police say.

John McGowan-Fazakerley, 31, is facing charges related to the death of a child, child cruelty, and sexual offenses. The victim, Preston Davey, was brought to the hospital unresponsive and later pronounced dead. Both McGowan-Fazakerley and another man, now residing in Grimsargh, near Preston, are set to appear in court in Lancaster.

The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) outlined the charges against the accused. McGowan-Fazakerley is accused of allowing the death of a child, child cruelty, and sexual assault of a child. Additionally, he faces charges related to indecent photographs and possession of extreme pornographic images. The other man, Mr. Varley, is facing charges including assault, child cruelty, grievous bodily harm, and sexual assault of a child.

All the charges pertain to the same victim, as confirmed by the police.
