Drivers are warned to expect delays of up to 45 minutes on a motorway section near Warrington.

Motorists are being advised to anticipate significant delays on the M62 after a lorry collision resulted in fuel leaking onto the road. The incident occurred when the vehicle struck the railings on a bridge on the A49 Newton Road in Warrington, causing fuel to spill onto the motorway.

The M62 has been shut down in both directions at junction nine, and there is a possibility of it remaining closed for several hours, according to Cheshire Police. Additionally, the entry slip road at junction eight eastbound has been closed off.

A spokesperson from National Highways mentioned that traffic is being redirected to exit and entry slip roads, with delays of up to an hour expected.
