There is a simple explanation as to why the Florian Wirtz transfer to Liverpool is on hold, while the Reds are expected to claim the final fee they've committed to is LOWER than the true number, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Transfer guru Romano revealed that Liverpool has reached a verbal agreement with Bayer Leverkusen for the transfer of Florian Wirtz. The club-to-club agreement is valued at a staggering €150m, which would make Wirtz the most expensive player in Premier League history.

While Sky Germany supported Romano's report, many other sources are yet to confirm the deal. It is believed that Liverpool and Leverkusen are still finalizing some details, with rumors suggesting that Liverpool may not pay the full €150m.

Despite the lack of updates, Romano explained on his YouTube channel that the delay is due to Wirtz being on holiday. Once he returns, the transfer process, including medical tests, will be completed.

Regarding the transfer fee, Romano hinted that Liverpool and Leverkusen may provide different figures to the media. Liverpool is likely to state a lower fee, while Leverkusen may want a higher figure to be publicized. However, the actual amount involved is €150m with add-ons included.

Sky Germany's Florian Plettenberg also confirmed the deal is expected to be finalized next week, with Wirtz currently on holiday.
