Reflecting on his victory in Stage 6 of the Critérium du Dauphiné, Tadej Pogacar expressed his joy at reclaiming the yellow jersey. He mentioned that it was a positive day for him and his team, highlighting the valuable insights he gained from the race. Despite not feeling too stressed after the time trial, Pogacar acknowledged that his form is in a good place. Post-Dauphiné, he plans to take a break in Isola to rest and focus on improving his time trial bike.
During the race, Pogacar's team had a strategy in place, but they had to adapt when Team Jumbo-Visma increased the pace on the first category climb, Côte du Mont-Saxonnex. Despite this unexpected move, Pogacar praised his teammates Tim Wellens, Jon Narvaez, and Pavel Sivakov for their outstanding performance. The team managed to control the race effectively, except for the moment when Team Jumbo-Visma launched an attack. Pogacar explained that they decided to make a move on the final climb without waiting, which ultimately paid off.
Following the attack, Pogacar focused on maintaining a steady pace and was pleased with how his legs felt during the race. Building a significant one-minute lead, he expressed his satisfaction with the outcome. Additionally, he mentioned rushing to catch the finish of his partner, Urska Zigart, in the Tour de Suisse.
Looking ahead, Pogacar anticipates a challenging day with longer climbs in the upcoming stages. Despite this, he is content with his performance in Stage 6 and is confident in both his form and the strength of his team.
