Meghalaya honeymoon murder: Contrary to Sonam's claim to her mother-in-law over the phone that she was fasting, the homestay owner said that both had a ‘very good dinner’, which they enjoyed. The owner also recalled the couple's unusual behaviour on the morning of May 23.

During their honeymoon in Meghalaya, Indore businessman Raja Raghuvanshi and his wife Sonam, who is now the main accused in his murder case, paid ₹1,380 for their stay at a homestay. The owner of Shipara Homestay shared that the couple went missing for several hours after checking in and returned late for dinner. Contrary to Sonam's claim of fasting, the owner mentioned that they had a 'very good dinner' together.

According to the homestay owner, Raja and Sonam did not make prior reservations and had to trek from Mawlakhiat to Nongriat with a guide after failing to find a room at another homestay in Sohra. They ordered coffee and dinner at Shipara Homestay, with Raja paying ₹1,000 for the room, ₹80 for the coffee, and ₹300 for dinner.

On the morning of May 23, the couple displayed unusual behavior by waking up early at 5 am and expressing a desire to check out without having breakfast. This behavior struck the owner as odd, especially since guests typically did not wake up that early.

Raja's body was found in a gorge on June 2, while Sonam went missing. She was later apprehended at a dhaba on the Ghazipur highway. Five individuals, including Sonam and her alleged boyfriend Raj Kushwaha, have been arrested in connection with Raja Raghuvanshi's murder. Four others are believed to be hired killers.

Sonam's brother, Govind, has acknowledged her involvement in the case, stating that the chain of events indicates her role in the crime. He emphasized that the connection between Sonam, Raj Kushwaha, Vishal, and others confirms her participation.
