During the ICC Men's World Test Championship Final against South Africa at Lord's, Australia's Steve Smith hurt his finger while fielding in the slip cordon. As a result, he had to leave the field to receive treatment. Smith later had to undergo scans at the hospital.
After the injury, Smith was unable to continue playing and had to sit out the final session of the day. Australian team medical staff assessed his condition at the ground before deciding to send him to the hospital for x-rays and further treatment.
